Who let the dogs out?

Who said a dog was a man’s best friend?

I personally loved The Rover and it has to be one of my favourite films of the year so far. "Why?" I hear you ask. Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson's acting and chemistry is one of the main reasons. Another is that whilst we've seen similar stories been told in cinema, this took that and gave its own spin on it. Eric is on a warpath and won't stop until he gets his trusty car back even at the expense of taking one the carjacker’s brothers hostage. The thing that I love about this film is that it shows you that when all hope is lost, you always cling on to your one hope of normality. In this case Eric believes that his car is the thing that reminds him of that.

Another thing that I love is that Robert Pattinson stepped out of his stereotypical role. People can say that he doesn't feel comfortable in his romantic roles but it’s an easy money making scheme. His character Rey's loyalty to his brother was similar to Eric's loyalty to his car which helped to make this film more of a memorable piece for me.

"You should never stop thinking about a life you've taken. That's the price you pay for taking it.”

Verdict: Must See
